We offer a wide range of modalities that target every facet of recovery. An Unparalleled Healing Journey

What Makes Our Treatment Center Different

We integrate both naturopathic and allopathic (Western) medical practices. Our team consists of naturopathic practitioners as well as allopathic professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists. Together, these two approaches complement each other and ensure our residents receive holistic and comprehensive treatment for mental health and/or substance abuse disorders.

Our treatment program is shaped by the latest research in neuroscience. Every therapeutic modality we employ is informed by what we know about the brain. We support healing through leveraging therapies which boost neuroplasticity – the brain’s ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural pathways. Additionally, we offer QEEG Brain Mapping – a powerful tool which measures the electrical function of the brain, providing data to prioritize and optimize treatment. Based on the data provided by brain mapping, we also offer neurofeedback and biofeedback.

The Sabino Recovery staff has been carefully selected not only for their experience and skill, but also for possessing a great deal of empathy and compassion. All staff members have a wealth of experience and truly love their work. They are remarkably devoted to the residents that they are blessed to work with every day. The result is an extraordinary healing environment for our residents.

At Sabino Recovery, we prioritize your holistic well-being. Our mission is not only to provide a serene and comfortable retreat but also to offer enriching activities that invigorate the mind, body, and spirit. With our bespoke, privately-curated programs, you’ll experience unparalleled care and world-class amenities.

We offer the upscale of private suites, gourmet meals crafted by our in-house chef, and immersive innovative therapies such as acupuncture, cupping, sauna retreats and cold-water plunges. Benefit from advanced diagnostics like sleep assessments and brain mapping, and harness the transformative power of adventure therapy.

Our extensive range of recreational offerings span from a challenging high/low ropes course to peaceful labyrinth walks. Dive into our pool, pick up a game on the basketball or pickleball courts, explore scenic hiking trails, and reconnect with nature through horseback riding. For a dose of creative and spiritual nourishment, partake in yoga, art therapy, our state-of-the-art music recording studio, or get in a workout in our fully-equipped gym.

Sabino Recovery is a place of kindness, professionalism, and healing. Our treatment staff consists of carefully selected, highly credentialed, licensed individuals who work in a team environment to deliver care to our residents. Each employee at Sabino Recovery is carefully interviewed before being considered for our team. We handpick our staff not only for their experience and skill, but also for possessing a great deal of empathy, nurturing, and compassion. It is because of this careful selection process that we’ve created a remarkable environment of mutuality, kindness, and safety.

Effective treatment is lasting treatment and the hallmark of an individualized treatment plan is how well it fits into your life. Preparing to engage in your life after treatment is as important as the treatment you receive. Being able to continue applying the new knowledge, tools and strategies learned in treatment is crucial.

As you move through the program, you and your therapist begin to understand what therapies you respond to and benefit from. This allows us to help you incorporate them into your everyday life at home. You will have important questions to answer about your family, life, career, and continued recovery. Successful recovery means being prepared to leave treatment with a plan to address the issues that these questions present and the resources to create that plan.

At Sabino Recovery we understand that lasting recovery for our residents depends on the involvement of those closest to them. We invite each resident, their families, and/or significant loved ones to participate in our Family Program – a three and a half day, experiential program designed to reconnect you with those individuals most important to your recovery. Our family program has been developed to provide family members the opportunity to gain insight into their family’s dynamics, and to support the honest and effective communication of fears, pain, and hope in a safe environment.

We emphasize not assigning blame to anyone during this time but rather encourage discovery and compassionate understanding of each other through safely guided exercises.

Sabino Recovery has been recognized by CARF for its outstanding commitment to trauma-focused care. Embodying the organization’s mission and values, the leadership and staff are available around the clock, ensuring a profound integration of cutting-edge, trauma-focused care. Central to Sabino’s ethos is its transparency, positive communication, and a deep-rooted trauma-focused approach to treatment.

The team demonstrates unwavering dedication to delivering individualized and collaborative services to those grappling with trauma and addiction. Staff members not only fulfill their roles with enthusiasm but also exhibit a willingness to acquire new skills in line with Sabino Recovery’s mission. The facility boasts a wide range of treatment services, with innovative approaches like Equine Therapy to cater to individual needs. Overwhelmingly, residents and stakeholders alike hold Sabino in the highest esteem, celebrating its healing, supportive, and empathetic culture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clinically Driven

As a privately owned treatment center, we have autonomy regarding all clinical decisions and treatment planning. For this reason we have the capacity to individualize a person’s treatment regimen based on the entire person and not just the diagnosis.

True Individualization

Treatment plans are developed around the specific needs of each resident. There are no “treatment tracks,” which means each resident’s treatment plan is developed after the person arrives. In addition, progress is closely monitored and the multi-disciplinary team makes real-time adjustments based on the resident’s needs.

Comprehensive Treatment

The past, present, and future are all equally important to recovery and hold keys to unlocking resources and abilities one may have forgotten they had. The effects of trauma, alcoholism, and addiction are complex and play out in different ways for each person. Our approach balances accurate assessment and diagnosis with sophisticated treatment and careful discharge planning.

Length of Stay

Our treatment programs are 35 to 60 days long, with 45 days being the most common. In rare cases this may be extended to 90 days if necessary.

We accept a limited number of patients into the program, which creates an intimate setting that provides the flexibility to customize treatment plans for everyone. In addition to the various group therapies offered at Sabino, each resident will receive over 47 individual therapy sessions within the 35-day program. This offers a perfect balance of one-on-one and group sessions.

Mental Health, Addiction, or Dual Diagnosis

At Sabino, having a substance use disorder or a dual diagnosis is not a prerequisite to receive treatment. Most of our clients have some form of trauma that affects their emotional well-being, but not all of them struggle with addiction.

Our programs are meticulously tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. If addiction isn't a factor for a client, then more focus will be dedicated to addressing underlying emotional and psychological challenges, as well as developing the tools to navigate life's stressors in a healthy and resilient manner.

Neurotherapy & Psychotherapy

Our multidimensional approach takes advantage of a variety of research based modalities and the latest research in neuroscience. Each of the modalities that we employ is informed by what we now know about the brain, what we can learn about the particular individuality of each resident, and how we can craft a treatment plan specific to each resident.

Primary Trauma Modalities

For trauma treatment we use the following modalities: EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Psychodrama, Mindfulness, Equine Assisted Therapy, IFS/ Internal Family Systems, Brain Spotting, Gestalt, Attachment Theory, Adlerian Therapy and Existential Therapy.

Integrative Therapies

We employ integrative therapies such as massage, acupuncture, art therapy, outdoor adventure, and yoga are not adjunct treatment; they are a critical part of the entire clinical program. These therapies provide important down-regulation of the hyperactive nervous systems for those who suffer from trauma, and anxiety as well as deliver mood-enhancing benefits to depressive symptoms. These modalities also help reduce impulsivity, improve focus and attention, and develop problem-solving skills. Additional therapies include cupping, reiki, bioenergetics medicine, myofascial release approach, breathwork with reiki, biofield tuning, cranial sacral, somatic experiencing, EMDR, brain mapping + neurofeedback, equine therapy, and horseback riding.

Insurance at Sabino Recovery

We accept most PPO insurance plans as an out-of-network provider and we are in-network with Compsych. We do not accept Medicare/Medicaid, AHCCSS or Tricare.

Upscale Treatment & Recreation

At Sabino Recovery we want to ensure your stay is not only comfortable, but full of recreational experiences that entertain and challenge you, all while teaching important skills for your mental health and sobriety. As a boutique, privately owned program, our treatment and amenities are world-class. We offer private and upgraded suites, an onsite chef, acupuncture, cupping, sauna, cold water immersion, sleep screening, brain mapping, adventure therapy, and more. Some of our facility’s recreational activities include a high/low rope course, pool, basketball courts, pickleball courts, labyrinth, hiking, horseback riding, yoga, art therapy, music recording studio, and a gym.

A Wise Mind Podcast

We started the A Wise Mind podcast to break down the stigma of recovery by having open conversations about everything related to trauma, addiction, and mental health. We intend to demystify complicated topics and start conversations that many people need to have but might not have the tools to start. We also take a deep dive into the Sabino Way and how our treatment facility adapts to an ever-changing industry.

We answer some of your questions about trauma and recovery and hope to create a safe space for compassionate curiosity. The issues of trauma and addiction are complicated and often fraught. Many people who experience addiction are ashamed and feel like they can’t talk about what’s going on. At Sabino, we are committed to educating people who are in addiction about their options for recovery and their loved ones about the experiences of addiction and trauma.
